Application possibilities

The SAP Mobile Infrastructure (SAP MI), part of SAP NetWeaver, is a technology solution with which SAP solutions for mobile business applications can be implemented. Applications not based on SAP can be mobilized by SAP MI as well. PDAs, laptops and smartphones can be used as mobile terminal devices.SAP MI is locally installed with web server, database layer and own business logic on a mobile device. In this way the mobile application can also be used when offline. Data collation between mobile device and backend is performed by synchronisation and data replication. The tools needed are provided by SAP MI.

Thanks to open industry standards (JAVA, XML) and the provision of a Java Virtual Machine, you can develop mobile applications on SAP MI at any time.
