Introduction

‘Tracking’ means monitoring forward movement of finished goods through the supply
chain and ensuring that all taxes and duties have been paid and volumes verified.
‘Tracing’ means working backwards through the supply chain to establish where any
genuine product was diverted out of the legitimate supply chain.

The answers of this study will be after evaluation part of a Track & Trace booklet we are planning to create and which is expected to be available by end of this year. Beside the results of this survey the booklet will contain some useful information around global Track & Trace projects.
